Pruning your trees in winter

Winter is usually thought of as a time to tackle the pruning of the deciduous and fruiting trees, but pruning of all trees can successfully be undertaken in winter as long as it isn’t a species that is susceptible to fungal diseases like Gummosis. Minor pruning for structural or aesthetic reasons can be undertaken at any time of year.
